I need more coffee in my life.

Houston road trip, as told by Instagram

From Atlanta to Houston and back. 34 hours on a Greyhound in 4 days. They should have made a documentary about this.

(In all seriousness, I’ve been inspired to create a comic called the ‘Greyhound Sutra’ to illustrate all the possible sleep positions on a bus. Stay tuned, nonexistent blog readers and my imaginary friends.)

The Greyhound station in Montgomery, Alabama. A quiet, sleepy little town. Hard to make the Civil Rights connection.

Next stop: Mobile, Alabama in the dead of the night.

Poster that caught my attention.

Good morning, Houston Einstein Bros…

We took a cab to the Johnson Space Center. The driver was a white guy in a baseball cap who looked suspiciously unlike the photo on his dashboard. Soon we realized something was very, very wrong. “Sir – are you driving and texting at the same time?”

He grinned at us. “This is my office. I can do whatever I want.”

Except texting, we insisted.

“All right,” Texas said. “I’ll stop doing it.” He began texting furiously again.

The space center wasn’t really built for adults, it turned out.

Taking the tram tour to the neutral buoyancy lab.

Saw a smurf on the way back.

Texas really is pretty darn good-looking.

Outfit 03.19.12 + straight to summer

It’s official. God skipped spring this year and went straight to summer. My phone forecasts 90 degrees tomorrow. 90 degrees. Need to get out of Hotlanta PRONTO.

Sweet and sour cucumbers

I made the mistake of putting a whole green pepper in my spaghetti tonight. The firestorm burned a hole in my stomach, I writhed in pain, etc. Thankfully, I remembered the cucumber dish I made yesterday. Ahhh… ice cold soursweet goodness.

Steps

1. Mix sugar, honey, chinkiang vinegar, picante sauce and garlic powder in a plastic container.

2. Chop cucumber into bite-sized chunks and place in the same container.

3. Put the lid on and shake vigorously.

4. Refridgerate for 24 hours.

And there you have it. In the words of JZM, “Too simple! Sometimes naive.”

Rusty Aldo Almos ankle boots

Found these awesome earthy-rust boots for exactly 70% off. The consensus on Zappos was that they ran small, so I ordered a size up and they fit perfectly.

Cool song: “Ça plane pour moi”

I know I’m always out of the loop when it comes to music (pun!), but whatever.

Crazy insane restless bouncy nonsensical song by Plastic Bertrand. So addictive!
